PurchasingTo purchase any item, click on the "buy or enquire" link found on every item's page, and by return email we will provide a link to our secure online checkout systems with the item's price and shipping costs for your location pre-filled. Our checkout systems are run by PayPal, where you may pay with a credit card, debit card or PayPal account, and Google Checkout, where you may pay with a credit card or debit card. Dispatch and deliveryAll purchases are dispatched as soon as possible after receipt of payment, and usually within two business days. Depending on the size and weight of the package, dispatch is via Royal Mail First Class post or Standard Parcels services within the UK, and via Royal Mail Small Packet Airmail or Parcelforce International Standard services outside the UK. Expected delivery times depend on service and destination and will be outlined at the point of purchase, but as a rough guide delivery takes one to five working days within the UK, three to five business days to the rest of Europe, five to eight business days to Canada and the United States, and six to ten business days to anywhere else in the world. Return of itemsWe are confident you will be happy with your purchases, but should you wish to return any item, let us know via email that you intend to do so and dispatch it to us within a week of receiving it. A full refund of the purchase price will be made upon the item's return in the condition in which it was sent to you. Shipping costs will not be refunded unless the item you received differs significantly from its description on the website. For UK returns where no p&p was originally charged, actual p&p cost will be deducted from the refunded purchase price. Your statutory rights are not affected. Vintage lightingWe check our vintage lighting for damage to wiring or electric fittings, and all lights are sold in working order. However, we are not certified electricians and offer no guarantee or warranty as to safety or functioning. Our lights are sold as collectors' items which may not conform to modern safety standards or regulations. If they are intended for use the purchaser must have them checked, fitted and if necessary modified by a qualified electrician. Vintage lighting and UK regulationsIt is our understanding that regulations introduced in the UK in January 2005 require pendant lighting installed in the UK after that date to have three-core wiring (ie to include an earth wire and terminal). All our lighting is vintage and has two-core wiring and bulb fittings. We therefore offer our lights to UK buyers as collectors' items only. Other electrical itemsAll electrical items at classic modern are vintage pieces and are offered for sale as collectors' items which may not conform to modern safety standards or regulations. If they are intended for use the purchaser must have them checked and if necessary modified by a qualified electrician. No guarantee or warranty as to safety or functioning is offered.
